TOPIC: “HOW DO WE EXPLAIN THE DIVERSITY OF LIFE ON EARTH”

Presenters:
Dr. Robert A. Martin, Murray State University
Dr. Guillermo W. Rougier, Department of Anatomical Sciences and Neurobiology,
University of Louisville

Drs. Martin and Rougier will provide handouts of topics and references that relate to them, and guide participants through discussions of these subjects. The focus will be on:

  1. the various lines of evidence in support of evolution
  2. Examples from the fossil record supporting extinction, origin of species, fossil diversity and transitions between groups, and
  3. Approaches to teaching evolution and fielding questions from the community.
